Becoming a daily issue now. Just a matter of time before they make this hobby illegal with the amount of morons doing this sort of thing!!
Although, the video attached in the article is pretty awesome, this guy clearly has no regard for the safety of people. A fly away...
Yeah this is the type of thing that gives lawmakers ammo to make life very difficult for the people that fly responsibly. So much negative press as this hobby becomes mainstream.

Clearance delivery is required for actual real airplanes with an IFR flight plan. The goal of notifying the airport is so they can issue a NOTAM that model aircraft activity may be in the area below a specific altitude.

I think the law is pretty clear... If you're not flying it for commercial purposes, you fall under Model Aircraft and are permitted to fly your Phantom just fine... Your city may have bylaws however for model aircraft in public parks, so, you may want to look into that...
Edmonton here! We should arrange a meet at some point...
We should start sharing some good places to fly! I've been using Google Maps to hunt out places with decent success... Where around Edmonton is unique?
What annoys me is that they have zero common sense.. What do they really think we are recording from 100-200FT? They literally look like ants anyways... I can understand if someone is hovering around people at 20FT on a beach or something... But even still, this wouldn't be an effective way of...
Was out flying last week with a fellow member and had my first negative experience with someone who clearly wanted an altercation of some sort... We were flying our Phantoms over a river away from anybody at about 8PM at night.. A guy rolls up on his bike and started calling us perverts and how...
Not sure I understand this.. The battery I'm talking about would be draining in the extender, not in the drone.. An external battery pack is an option, but, I think it's probably easier at that point to upgrade the actual antenna instead of attempting to boost the transmit power..
I suspect changing the TX power will increase your range significantly, but, will also drain your battery on your extender significantly with it... May be worth testing the results!

First post and proud to post this... Found a huge open field today where I live and it was super windy (roughly 30 gusting to 40km/h).. I had my Phantom Vision in Atti mode up to 48mph! Thing was a rocket!! Now going back in the wind was quite a bit slower
