    Newbie on the scene

P3 Standard may have a shorter range but you could upgrade the antennas.

    Newbie on the scene

I'm still pretty new myself and I fly a Phantom 3 Standard but I've received a lot of feedback saying that the Phantom 3 is a fantastic place to start. I guess it would depend on the price for you, but it seems that the Phantom 3 Advanced is a lot like the Phantom 3 Pro but without the 4k video...

Still could not fly drone even after using DJI fly safe to get cleared?

No worries. I was just confirming that's what I meant... I thought you explained it better than I did.

Still could not fly drone even after using DJI fly safe to get cleared?

That's exactly what I was referring to.

Did you click to the right of each statement to add the checkmarks before clicking the "yes" button?

Major frustration trying to get my Phantom 3 Standard flying

The only way I know how is to get somebody with a Mac to download it for you.

    No animation on flight siumalator

I haven't tried the simulator, but I would assume it's because it's a simulator so you won't get a camera view... no camera to actually view anything.

Major frustration trying to get my Phantom 3 Standard flying

You can try installing OSX in a virtual machine. Basically, you install a program called VirtualBox or VMWare. It is a program that sets aside a portion of your hard-drive and then treats it like a separate computer... a virtual computer. You can actually install just about any operating system...

Major frustration trying to get my Phantom 3 Standard flying

I would recommend changing your password though. If you're using the default still, it's very easy to figure it out and then anyone can connect to your drone. I would imagine doing so might make it possible for them to change the home point to their location, initiate return-to-home and then...

Major frustration trying to get my Phantom 3 Standard flying

IMHO, iOS is only marginally more secure. I think I has to do with the fact that developing for iOS ends up to be less work than for Android and before I catch flak for that (I actually prefer Android myself), let me explain: there is exactly one iOS. Yes, there are versions, but essentially...

    Attitude mode question

That's what I was thinking. I have been practicing in atti mode a bunch to be safe in the event that I lose GPS. I'm comfortable with it now. I hadn't thought of flying sideways into the wind, letting it coast to a stop and reverse direction. That's a great idea. I'll give it a go. Thanks for...

    Attitude mode question

Typo there. I don't know where the "another" came from. I meant "smoother video". The reason I ask is that in attitude mode, the drone will coast along when the controls are released whereas in GPS mode, it will stop somewhat abruptly. I'm just wondering if it is better to fly in attitude mode...

    Attitude mode question

Should I be flying in attitude mode for another video? What are the benefits?

    Airmap

This all sounds good and makes me happy to have the P3 as a first drone. Also, it sounds like Litchi is the way to go so I'll go ahead and spring for it. Thanks for the suggestions. :)

    Airmap

I've read up a bit on Litchi and it seems pretty popular. How would you say it compares to Drone Harmony?
