I found windsurfers no help in my situation especially as im flying standard it partially covers the internal 2.4ghz video antennas, this is why i went to dbs mod which is from Horizon FPV Antennas this made a massive difference. In that 9000' flight i lost video connection but it rth fine.

Yep you need to match the orientation of the rc and birdside will make a massive difference. Imagine screwing two rh coils together there will be contact all the way down where as if you could screw a lh into a rh there would only be contact at certain points where the coils cross.

Im definately watching this, ive not really had time to improve this diy copy, but if you want when i do ill post updates here seem as they will be basically identical antennas. Im also hoping to build a 5.8 version aswell maybe a few wks yet due to work.
