This is correct. For recreational flying you register YOURSELF, and apply the registration number to all of your aircraft over 250 grams. For non-recreational/Part 107 flying you register each aircraft (regardless of weight) and apply the individual registration to that specific aircraft.
That's a good point, and what I'm currently hoping for. I suspect that those who received reimbursement then cancellation had intended to continue their policy on the replacement drone, but you're right, that may not be enough. I'll be calling our local agent on Monday.
It's actually insured through State Farm, and I can certainly submit a claim. Problem is it sounds like a little over half the people who've submitted as claim get paid, then their policy is cancelled within a few weeks. I've got 2 other Drones and other camera gear on that Personal Articles...
It took many months to find this one in my area, and I certainly won't find another one for anywhere near the estimated costs I'm seeing other people discussing.
I'm wondering if there's any point in sending in the dead battery. It'll be fully neutralized by then, but I'd be surprised if they'd toss in a battery with either a repair or a refurb. Anyone know?
Good to know there's another option available, thanks for the heads up. @D D S, if you do see this and need any other pictures or information I'll be happy to provide. Thanks!
My P4P fell out of the sky from 200' yesterday, debris and flight log point to the battery popped out mid-flight. I'm trying to get a feel for whether or not it would be worth it to send it in to DJI for possible repair. I've heard encouraging stories of getting near-new replacement refurb...
Thanks for looking into it for me. Managed to download the aircraft .DAT file, in case it recorded anything faster than the tablet, or anything after the aircraft disconnected from the controller. Here's a link in Dropbox: FLY153.DAT
Is there anything else I'm missing in determining what...
Hmmm, not sure why the log file would be screwy, only did one flight today and that log bears the correct date stamp. Just pulled the .DAT file from the tablet, I'll attach it here, perhaps it'll have some usable data. I haven't tried powering up the craft with another battery yet to see if I...
Well, after 230+ hours of flight time and over 10 million feet travelled, I just had a "permanent disconnect event". Flight going fine until a very brief 'high wind' warning (on a rather calm day) then it disconnected, never came home, never reconnected. Found the carcass and it's likely a...
I did toss a cheap parabolic into my Amazon cart recently, can't say there's a definitive improvement. With my Spark I can at least see a repeatable (though minor) improvement when adding the parabolics. I must admit I haven't specifically tried to combine it with the 5.8Ghz range, I'll give...
