I bought 4 new motors thinking that the time the Phantom spent in the dirt might have burned them all out. I have no problem replacing that one motor. I'm not too confident with soldering electronics, so I may go with a splice.
Boring story short: I was flying waypoints in GPS mode and didn't check all the altitudes before hitting GO. On the way to waypoint 3 at the default 98ft, there was a tree that was 120ft high. Not a pleasant sight to witness, especially the silence after the props lose lift and the rustling of...
I can only guess as to how it works... The wifi extender has a factory set output to its antennae. The app most likely boosts the output beyond its factory setting or makes the extender think it's under-powering the antennae and adds more power to the transmitter. This increase in power adds...
Ya know.... That is something I'd never consider. If the internals frost over you could very well have a fly away, or a catastrophic electronic failure & a motor cut out at altitude.
Airplanes are concerned about frost on the leading edges of the airfoils.... Why shouldn't we be concerned with...
I'd think something more in the way of a large open area with operating pads, and maybe nearby some good scenery, that have upgraded antennae for longer range video feeds so you can take fuller advantage of the controller's range.
Short version: I used Ground Station today to fly a few waypoints. Up until now it has been flawless. Every waypoint I set as I did before, and kept my altitude the same as before. I took off with a solid GPS fix (6+ satellites) and set 5 waypoints. 1-4 went without a hitch, as I make every...
First... Very nice video.
Next... I showed an exec producer from NBC a video I shot in & through a fireworks display at the beach. She offered to pay me to do some aerial shots as free lance work.
Too bad I had to decline as most local laws prohibit the use of Unmanned Aerial Systems for...
I know that if I come too close to my laptop the wifi on the laptop will be interrupted.
So probably yes there will be some interference. Keep your distance from other controllers.
The wifi extender is 2.4 ghz
The controller itself is 5.8ghz.
Is that part of the new firmware?
Before I updated to 3.06 the LEDs would flash yellow before it had a GPS fix. Now it's doing the green green red dance. I thought it was because I switched to Naza-M in the assistant software to use Ground Station.
Are the waypoints only limited to the transmitter range?
I have a green circle around my location and cannot set a waypoint outside of it, even though I have my lateral range in the assistant client to about a mile.... Yet I can only set waypoints out to 0.31 miles.......
