I recommend you DON'T use CSC to shutdown. It sometimes causes the aircraft to tilt and endanger the blades.

I don't think non-cellular radio ipads have GPS chips. You WILL need a GPS chip or additional GPS receiver for your tablet if it doesn't have one. You will not need a cellular connection for your tablet's GPS chip to work however. I was shocked to find that Apple cheaped out like this.

My dji GO App has somehow determined that it is linking to a P3P ( I have a P3A). Whenever I turn on the aircraft, it goes through the gimbal self-check and then it just goes limp and the red light on the front of the gimbal flashes. The tablet/phone auto links ok, but it identifies the machine...

I had the basic for less than a week before I ordered the ADVANCED. Just do it. You will never regret this decision

May I suggest you NOT set it to hover instead of RTH with a lost RC signal, unless you want it to self-land in an unknown spot after the batteries get low
