So to make sure I'm not getting ahead of myself, say I get a gimbal board that is loaded at v1.3.20, is there anything else on my AC that's affected by my original attempt to update to v1.11.20 (or getting stuck at 1.4.10)? Basically just checking to see if there would be any incompatibilities...

My soldering skills are a bit rudimentary. lol Out of curiosity, since this problem is on the gimbal board, could I just replace the gimbal assembly or the gimbal board itself with a known working one?
