Newfoundland wind farm, icebergs, waterfalls etc

Yeah, that was Final Cut Pro version of vignette, very clunky and likely not worth it. I'm glad you enjoyed the edit, literally the tip,of the iceberg. It was an amazing place and that was 35 GB of media, shortened to 14 minutes. Crazy how long it takes, that 14 minutes took me at least 40 hours...

    Icebergs!

I wondered about that too. There was a huge peat bog behind me draining into the bay that turned the water yellow. I looked at my aerial video later and saw the brown water culverts pouring into the ocean. It did look a bit weird.

    Icebergs!

The wind was blowing offshore so very tense flying. I would have loved to fly into that arch but I'll use someone else's phantom for that shot!

    Icebergs!

was in Newfoundland last week and there are hundreds of spectacular icebergs drifting along the coast. From cruise ship sized (on top of the water) to bathtub sized washing up on shore. Challenging flying in the wind and fog but some awesome shots. nerve-wracking! http://youtu.be/KA2NNjdNVrM

On my second phantom v1.1.1 with over 300 flights and no lubricating or maintenance. I do have one loose c clip rattling around my LED light, where did that come from? But no issues of heat or failure....yet......

What's the first accessory would you recommend a person add.

Re: What's the first accessory would you recommend a person totally agree about the headlight. easiest and most useful hack ever. next, $5 kitchen timer to time your flights. Set it to alarm at 4 or 5 minutes. It'll save your ***.

This forum is fab. Thanks for the quick reply. I'm in Canada but I'm sure the usual suspects will carry that product or similar. It looks ideal.

    Recording device suggestions please

I have searched the various forums and googled it but with little satisfaction. I want to record my FPV feed from my video monitor (lilliput 329DW which has a Diversity 5.8 receiver built in). Simple video earphone type jack out to a small, dedicated video recorder onto SD cards preferably. This...

    Launching from indoors or balcony?

I've launched from patios, balconies and it's ok as long as you stay in sight line with quad. If you need to move which means entering a building momentarily to go outside not only will you lose visual your radio signal will drop and trigger return to home, or worse. It works, but adds risk to...

    Cheap cameras

If you get the gopro get a dealer extra warranty. I normally don't get those useless things but a new flyer and a gopro have about a 100% chance of crashing and killing your expensive camera! nice to take it back for a new one! Your welcome.

Another water crash (and battery fire)

I crashed my v1.1 phantom into the sea after hitting a huge piece of driftwood. Fortunately the water was shalow enough to get it. I rinsed off the sand, salt and seaweed in the sink, pulled the battery, and gopro out to dry separately. The gopro was opened up as much as possible, take out...
