I ran into similar issue. The default program for opening the file on Windows10 (Photos) only displayed a very low res picture. Once I opened the file from my photo editing software (Corel Paint Shop Pro) it displayed the full resolution and related metadata.

I traveled several times with my Phantom, in Europe and the US. Never had an issue. I was surprised I was asked to pull out laptops, cameras, but nobody ever looked at or open the drone backpack. Still, to be prepared, I always check out and print the airline policy regarding lithium batteries...
