Ahhh - I also found it hard to pull the battery out of my P4 sometimes but I've been using the one hand on the phantom one on the battery method - will have to try this two hands on the battery and see if it's easier.

I believe when he indicated that you don't have to switch he probably meant you don't have to switch from video mode to still mode (in the DJI app) to use the hardware button on the remote to take a still image. However you do have to stop recording video to take a still image. i.e. I've found...

I've tried it with my iPad Mini (1) and it doesn't crash and all the config and software/firmware update functions appear to work fine. The video feed lags horribly however (video breaks up and hangs, etc) when the P4 is in flight so is practically unusable for FPV. The on screen menu's etc...
