I either accidentally incorrectly installed the power for my avl58 vtx and may have shorted the power out. When I opened the body I smelt a little burn and some black was visible on the video and power output ribbon wire. On the main board. I checked and all was still fine with my phantom flies...

Yes I'm using the iosd assistant software 4.0 still really heats up,and won't detect on my PC. Someone please help me setup my last piece of intelligence . Solid red and gets really hot after about 3-4 minutes.

You mean to say you location data home location altitude speed etc ? Either an IOSD mini or ipad ground static or the combination of both will give you on screen flight data live. It connects between the video out and tx in. Hope that helps
