skyhighdiver,
My initial post was made on 7-4-14, so of course I didn't have the newest firmware - it wasn't made available then! Duh
...and it's you're, not your
Update - I mailed in my defective battery on July 18 and nearly two months later, I finally receive the below message stating they're sending me a replacement battery free of charge.

Your PHANTOM 2 BATTERY unit has been replaced new. You will not be...
PVFlyer,
I had to make another attempt... it's just too nice of a night out there tonight. I made it to 7,519.4 ft distance. I was using the same Preview setting at 640x480 15fps.
PVFlyer,
Here's my new record, 5,562.7 ft distance. I changed my distance limit to 1.5 miles. I would've pushed it further as I still had strong signals for both my control and FPV but the mosquitoes were eating me alive. My Preview was set at 640 x 480 15fps.
Hi WebMaximus,
Yes, however, on this particular flight it took my P2V+ roughly 5 minutes to obtain 7 satellites and then I took off (straight up and forward). Yes, I am using stock antennas.
Thanks
PVFlyer,
Yes, you're correct, I am using iOS booster app V2. I am going to try a different flight path to see if it makes a difference or not - stay tuned.
Thanks
PVFlyer,
Here's my record so far, 5,069.7 ft distance. I need to change my distance limit again and perhaps I can go even further. My Preview was set at 640 x 480 15fps - still had a solid FPV connection.
PVFyler,
I changed my distance limit to 1 mile and achieved a distance of 4,582.9 ft and still had a solid FPV connection. I didn't lose control signal. I guess I could've gone further out - but perhaps another night. My Preview was set at 640 x 480 15fps.
PVFlyer,
I recently downloaded your booster app and achieved a distance of 3,917.4 ft away and an altitude of 1,825.5 ft... all while maintaining a solid FPV connection. I could've gone higher and further out but reached my distance limitation that I set. No mods whatsoever (bone stock P2V+)...
Thanks Geert and Dirty Bird for the quick response! I feel better knowing that I'm not the only one w/this issue. This is my first real problem that I've had so far between my P2V and P2V+.
I will be sure to contact DJI for a replacement.
Thanks,
Ron
