    Maximize Battery Life

Yeah, the battery charging thing was a bit of a learning curve. Now store batteries at about 3.8v using the storage function on a four button charger. Bought power supply, charger, power lead and parallel charging board as four separate items. The Rcmodelreviews chap has a couple of great vids...

Gas powered generator instead of batteries

One petrol engine driving all props mechanically and quad controlled by small battery powered pitch change? That would be too big a mod for the phantom perhaps!

    Charger

No, I haven't. Just ordered one from HKing though. It will charge up to 6s, so two 3s batteries in parallel. Coming from the States so will take a while. Raggy. UK

    Shell Crumbling

I have started to get airframe cracking around the Gopro mount brass thread inserts so not a loctite issue. I have been experimenting with a couple of different mounts so there has been some degree of extra stress in this area but have been careful not to overtighten.

What is your best NO Jello Solution?

I would need surgery to balance my nuts!

What is your best NO Jello Solution?

I didn't. The nuts would have to be screwed on to exactly the same spot as they would be when the props are in place. Doable I suppose.

What is your best NO Jello Solution?

The snowy video is Clare, Suffolk UK. Yes, it's where I live. Don't like flying too close to the residential areas in case people think I'm snooping! The second vid is from Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion SW Wales Gareth

What is your best NO Jello Solution?

Photo attached as requested - not very pretty! It's two layers of neoprene separated by a disk of flexible plastic which is bolted to the Phantom frame through the first sheet of neoprene. The camera mount is the display mount from the Hero3 retail pack cut into a disk shape. It is bolted to the...

Making IOC and Home Lock work properly

Home lock has been really useful when phantom is so far away that it is not possible to detect if craft is moving away or towards you, especially near trees etc. Does not happen very often though. Tried manual mode but a lot of correction inputs needed so flicked back into stabilised mode very...

    Bad Bearings?

Re. bearings failing, I saw a good tip on YouTube - chap flying an S800 suggested that each motor is touched after use to assess overheating - an early sign of problems.

How about killing vibration at the source?

What is your best NO Jello Solution?

Huge improvement after balancing props and motors. Only one motor unbalanced but all props needed fixing. RSA (jello) finally eradicated by isolating camera mount with a couple of layers of thin neoprene and two thin plastic sheets so that camera mount is not screwed directly into the Phantom...

Connectivity issues with computer and Phantom

No solution for you but am unable to install the driver to a 32 bit XP PC. Get error message that the exe file is not a valid Win32 application. If this message does not appear, get an error message from the installation wizard saying that no device detected. No such problems with my 64bit...
