Called DJI... 4-6 weeks for a repair. Not exactly satisfactory. As much as I don't want to return the quad, I feel like I should - shoddy manufacturing on a $1200 copter isn't good business.

Interesting results, thanks for posting this. I saw the issue for the first time this morning, and it was dramatic - 10 sats dropped to 4 when I started recording. As I haven't voided my warranty yet, I think I'll try an external anti-static layer by itself & report back after my next flight.

I've only done four flights so far, but I've noticed that hovering and rotating (edit: in GPS mode) will usually also pitch the copter a little in the direction the wind is blowing. This might be the same effect.

It only takes one Phantom plummeting into the windshield of a moving car to permanently end this hobby for everyone.
