    BlackFly

Depending on retail price and how the authorities regulate the BlackFly (and similar PAVs) it has huge potential, maybe it's not the next Tesla but the whole world will find out about the BlackFly and many of us will want one. Assuming the joystick controls will be the same as a Phantom...

    BlackFly

Yes that is the 2nd generation, the next model is more streamlined and will be the one that will go on sale in 2019. Vision looks a bit limited in hover/takeoff mode but should be quite good when tilted forward cruising. More details at Opener

    BlackFly

If things go as planned there is a personal electric VTOL called the BlackFly about to go on sale to the public in early 2019 for about the price of an SUV. The international model's empty weight is 142kg and it is designed to carry a pilot/payload of 113kg about 60km at a cruise speed of...

DJI commits to $145,000 to dob in dodgy flying

I guarantee they don't see anything from me, my tablet internet is always turned off while flying and I have never updated or posted a log.

    Battery Discharge/Charge question?

And none taken either, I would much prefer my error was corrected than have it left there and be another bit of misinformation, there is too much of that in this world already.

    Battery cycles???

There was a plausible reason attached to that advice but I can't recall it at the moment or where I saw the info. I will post when I can track down the original source.
  7. Q

    Battery cycles???

I have never seen a DJI battery manual, the P4 IFB safety guide lines (included in the box) don't say anything about regularly deep cycling the battery and although the P4 manual does tell you how to discharge to 8% (presumably prior to transporting on commercial aircraft if the carrier requires...

    Battery Discharge/Charge question?

Nigel, my post was more than confusing, it was incorrect and I have deleted it. Apologies for my brain fade and thankyou for pointing it out.

    Battery Discharge/Charge question?

Since you have asked twice and no one has answered the question directly I will say that the auto discharge is a function of the battery, it doesn't matter whether it is in the AC or not. Of course the best course of action is not to use the auto discharge at all, just charge to 50% in the first...

    Charger overcharging battery to 17.1v

Also to communicate with the AC and the Go App.

    P4 Battery Hole Covers ??

By now there will be a few dead batteries around that could be emptied (very carefully!!) and used as a blank or @msinger although there will be a patent on DJI's battery case some unimportant areas could be changed to make a blank that didn't infringe patent law.

    P4 Battery Hole Covers ??

I had exactly the same experience (good as new but one bent prop) with my refirb P4, thankfully it came with 2 sets of 4 props so I didn't need it straight away. (check that pun!!) I gradually straightened my bent prop with weights over a week and now the only way I can tell the previously bent...

maximum motor speed reached warning n autolanded

Well that's the obvious solution thrown out, maybe if you posted your log someone might be able to help. Its obvious from the thread you replied to that the problem has happened to others but there doesn't seem to be any solutions found yet. If one blade broke off a prop I expect there would be...

    Battery Issue

DJI LiPos don't like water at all, remember there will be continuous power to some of their electronics even when turned off, that is not good news for their health and it isn't easy to open them up to dry out either. The electronics in the AC are completely powered down when the battery is shut...

maximum motor speed reached warning n autolanded

You just replied to an old thread so the original posters probably won't answer but unless you were doing some radical flying in gusty conditions the most likely cause of the max motor speed warning is a prop breaking or flying off. Although your Phantom is looking rather second hand can you see...
