I have one and love it. Yes, the Vision Plus fits just fine.

I call it a "helicopter". Not entirely accurate, but descriptive enough, and it makes new observers less nervous than if I call it a "drone" or "quadcopter". Takes away the connotations of "drone" and keeps them from asking "a quad-what?"

Re: Is this screw supposed to be missing? On mine, the hole appears to have threads, but it's hard to tell for sure. Mine does not presently contain a screw, and I can't say that one was ever there. I've had my P2V+ since August/50 flights or so. Haven't noticed any odd behavior with the gimbal.
