I agree with the personal liberties sentiment and the right to put yourself or your property at risk. However I don't agree that this extends to unwittingly putting others in danger.
In the UK (and possibly other parts of Europe) we are not allowed to fly within 50m of people, structures or...
Well I was in rural Poland, on a slight hill (so direct LOS). I switched off wifi on the iPad and on my phone just in case. I stayed at around 120m altitude I think. I had almost 40% battery left on return. I don't think this is particularly special, I have had a number of flights in various...
I got 5km on stock antennas with them pointed upwards as per the manual. Signal was still good, I could have gone further. I was in CE mode. I have also flown 1km away behind where I was standing (and there was also a house at my back that the signal had to go through).
The aftermarket...
Just a guess, but perhaps the the P3 Pro is selling well because most people who can afford such an expensive toy, can probably also afford a good computer. 4k monitors are coming down in price very fast (they already cost as little as £250) and anyone who claims it isn't worth the extra money...
One risk that you have probably already considered is the very large 'blind' spot that you have above and behind the building (assuming it is a large building) you are in when standing on the balcony. If you lose track of where you are and the copter goes behind or above the building, you may...
Yes, I wouldn't attempt balcony takeoff unless you are already very familiar with the software and can control the quad without having to think (and without panicking). There is quite a lot that could go wrong!
Also remember that RTH is going to have a very hard time if you take off from a...
Coincidentally, I just tried this 20 minutes ago - I am on holiday at the Baltic and wanted an evening flight. I took off from a 3rd floor hotel balcony (see image) having got a home location lock. I sat it on a high table, let it hover up enough to clear the balcony, and then I was off. It...
I have been mucking about with the ISO and shutter speed settings for night photography. It is tricky to get right and I generally take a few shots on different settings to compare later. It is quite hard to tell at the time how it came out. Higher ISO means lower shutter speed required...
I did 5km in Poland today on stock antennas and CE mode (if such a thing exists). I could have gone further.. no particular reason for turning around except I was worried about losing my favourite toy in a foreign land :)
There and back in 13 mins with 39% battery remaining. It was a lovely...
If you look at the power bar along the top in the video, you can see the (h) home marker on it moves right along and as leekiya said, it hits the point where it thinks it only has sufficient battery to return home, and creates a battery alert as a result.
I did just over 2.5km today, in the UK. I had good line of sight, and stayed up at maximum altitude. Signal quality was still very good at that distance, and I turned back as I was getting close to a town and was nervous to go any further.
If FCC mode was possible I would be very interested...
