Canadian Snow Birds - Flying in Arizona

Coming from Canada to vacation in the Casa Grande, AZ area can I fly my Phantom 3 - 4k? We do not registered our private hobby drones in Canada. What do I need to know? What regulations do I need to follow? Any info or where I might find this info please let me and others know.

On my version of the PH3 - 4k the max distance is "500 meters". If you don't believe me go to the PH3 discussions about the PH3 - 4K and read the comments.

Meta4, Please explain how to switch that off. I see in the PH3 area guys are re-programming the drone and controller. Not sure that I want to do that.

Gentlemen, The drone is not in beginner mode. Max distance is 500 meters. Max altitude is 500 meters, although I set mine at 120 meters. Yes it was bought in Canada at Best Buy. A friend has an earlier model of the PH3 - 4k and fly much farther out. He as a switch on the transmitter that can...

No .... 1600 ft. distance. DJI sets the drones shipped to Canada that way. The new PH3 - 4k cannot not be changed like the old ones could at least by a switch.

Neven, You are no doubt correct. Thank you for your advice.

    Cases?

I had a pelican type case for my PH2. It was great but heavy. When I got my PH3-4k I bought a Tomler Heavy duty hardshell waterproof protective backpack for $104.87 CDN. Good quality and light. The backpacks are great if you have to walk any distance. Hard cases speak for themselves.

Finding a lost phantom with Trackr

Look at "Trackimo" I have not seen this device but I hear they are good. A friend put it on his beagle dog and said it works great. They are suppose to come on sale at Canadian Tire in Canada the end of September. I may purchase one then.

    The Negative Reputation...Please Be Careful

You handle the situation very well. If I am near people I always explain what I am doing. They are usually very interested in the drone. I take the time to answer all questions. Normally I fly farm fields, forest, lakes and rivers with no one around. If on private land I always ask...

Neven: The only time I ever fly near people is when I have permission and they are aware of the drone. This is usually for a photo of them. My PH3-4 is limited to 1600ft. radius as it was bought in Canada. I am fortunate to be able to fly over farm land, forest, lakes and rivers so I am not...

GSREINKE: Like your replies. Perhaps there is a place for "our kind" to carry on discussion.

Neven, I joined in hopes I might learn or get some new ideas on the Phantom drones.. Mostly I read about people flying and or promoting very dangerous flights. If you want to fly long flights go out in the country not flying in heavily populated areas.

Count yourself in the top ten of stupid, careless, dangerous, no regard to others safety or damage to property. I can't believe you would even post this. You should be locked up and the key thrown away. No wonder we drone flyers get a bad rep.
