Max away from me was 5000 feet. Full signal my butt hole was just too puckered to go further as I don't want to lose my bird. That was plenty far enough for anything I'll ever do with it.

Updated to 9 ipad mini 2. Zero issues. Ran smooth as ever yesterday

Get a tablet whenever possible. I was using my 6plus and I just got the iPad mini 2 and there is more data. Like my phone I only got the mini map. Tablet I get mini map and the sonar arrow. As well as more screen space. Wish I had done it earlier.

I use an inverter. Works well.

Mine kicks on when I turn the controller on but quickly stops. Think it recognizes a little voltage but not enough to keep charging. iPhone 6+

Well I made the plunge. My P3P is on its way. Will be here Monday. Started with a husban x4 worked to a phantom 1 and now this will be my third quad. Excited to get more into the photography aspect of flying. These threads have been excellent so far. Now to sell my 1.1.1.
