Got mine. Really nice. Going to use it to hold my Amped wifi repeater for the FC40. I opened up the repeater and drilled a hole so I could attach it with a wing nut. At first I just used Velcro but the screw makes it much more secure...

I am not sure about the knock offs. I didnt realize they came from China. Not sure what you are looking to spend but you can type 'damaged gopro hero 3' in the Ebay search and there are some people selling broken units.

Go to Ebay and type in 'GoPro lens' into the search bar...you can get a replacement lens for less than $20

Yes just make sure it is blinking red when you plug it in. Once it is charged it will shut off and not blink anymore.
