Not sure if this helps and you may have already tried it, make sure the firmware for the controller and the unit are up to date and not conflicting. Sometimes when I have updated the firmware in the Phantom and not the controller, I've had glitchy video feed

Had the P4P+ for a few months and while I have not clocked up many flights, I am very pleased with it and have had no issues at all. When I fly my older drone I have to use either a phone or ipad, it is a PITA.

After much cursing and head banging it turned out that the controller firmware required updating (Via SD card). So I did that and fired it back up, the 'aircraft locked' message was gone and the 'ready to fly' message was up. There was the usual firmware upgrade notification for the Phantom...
