I've been wanting to fly at Gasworks but I think I would stay well below 250ft. I could certainly see the seaplanes being a concern. That and everyone flying their kites. Maybe not the best spot. Have you by chance also been at Greenlake? I know I've seen a quad copter pilot there recently...
Thanks guys. Some better replies after that initial guy.
It's very good for me to understand that it's best to apologize and act respectful if/when confronted. It's true that there are many places to fly if I get turned away from one (with hopefully just a warning). I don't want to give...
Wow ok. I thought it would have been the BEST place. I mean it's a place where people can hear others' experiences right?
I mean all I've heard is that enforcement is a gray area. You stay below 400ft and you're not in a restricted area then you're not breaking the law right? Maybe I'm wrong...
Hey guys, been a Phantom owner for a week and asking a hypothetical question to get more familiar with my rights.
Does a park ranger have authority to say I can't fly my drone on the property?
So far I've mostly just been practicing in large, empty school playgrounds in the evenings. But...
Thanks guys. I will try those and actually read the manual this weekend :P

Great! So you take off the propellers, rest the top of the phantom against your backpack, then tie it together with bungee cords or rope right? Sounds doable, cheap and lightweight. Thanks!
Hmmm, true. That was my worry. The Walkera Tali H500 looks much more collapsible. Though the overall size is much larger. So it still might look funny strapped on ones back.
Hi everyone!
I'm new here and have spent many, many hours scouring over quadcopter videos, reviews and this amazing forum over the past 24 hours. I live in the pacific northwest and would love to buy a Phantom and take it on various mountain hikes. How feasible is this?
The Phantom 2 Vision+...
