Sounds like we live in about the same area...we should get together and fly sometime. I know of one other guy that has a drone. I fly at Faust park at times, but now with this news, not sure I can even do that anymore. I will call the tower tonight or tomorrow too and see what they say...

I just picked up the microcenter one for 30...I can confirm the fact it is the dji real deal, also, they have the professional model for 700 and the advanced for either 600 or 500

you can use the mini original to do everything except fly...once flying, it can't handle the information fast enough, and you will lag badly. I also suggest the mini 2.

Btw, I just found this capability on the app, and it says to save to album...where is the album? LOL. And I got out to 3500 feet yesterday at the in laws...so relieved :) Could have pushed a bit further but got a bit nervous!

Got out about 2500-2800 feet today...much better...think I can go further with some more altitude...will try later. Btw, found a really really easy solution to taking off the lens cap...the prop tool...kinda what is was made for...loosening things that are tight :)
