I cannot comment on batteries, but regarding flight zones- isn't it linked to DJI GO app only? You can still fly either without app, or using different one, like Litchi app, without restrictions.. Edit. I might be wrong, is it in the firmware? i'm not living in US, so i don't have those nfz...
