The wifi is for video transmission correct? And, the RC signal loss is what would tell it to RTH? Or am I wrong on this?

What does airplane mode do? Up the wifi signal strength?

I know a guy who cut an aluminum pop can to make a parabolic reflector. He went about 4.5 KM and never lost signal. BUT, he is up in the high country, super clear line of sight to drone, with no intereference(lives out in the middle of nowhere).

Everything worked after the crash also. GPS and all controls would work perfect and fly it as far as I could see it. So I know everything was flying/working before I put the camera ribbon on. I am pretty sure my upgrade attempt is what unlinked it and now it won't do anything. Except flash...
