GL300F works with P4PV1. I used all types of USB-C cables and the Syntec USB-A to USB-C adaptor. It never worked for me with the USB-C of iPad. It has however worked for some. I finally switched to P4P V2 on which I never had problem connecting to USB-C iPads.
If GPS gets unstable due to some GPS jammers/ disruptors (I don't know for sure if there is one at the site I flew) are there any GPS jamming protection solutions that could be used on the Phantom?
This day I did test flights with the P4PV2 at a different location. I could consistently lock 15 GPS satellites in 5 test flights. Regarding the RID mounted on top of the P4PV2 there was a drop in satellite of 1-2 only, i.e., I could consistently lock 12-14 GPS.
Thank you for the analysis. I have flown the Phantom both at the Marina Barrage and West Coast and have had no issues with GPS. In the last picture I find some antennas on the roof not accessible from the terrace. I am checking if any high-power broadcasting is interfering with the GPS.
Hi Raff, Thanks for the clarification. If it is the RC and Video feed thats deteriorating over distance it may be due to the antennas located at the legs of the Phantom.
As long as there is no interference, I am fine with mounting location. The RID is working fine since it can be located. I will be testing the P4PV2 at a different location to check if it due to any other interference causing GPS to remain unstable.
Hi Raff, when you say lack of control how many GPS was locked? What I mean is was it a GPS issue because of which there was a lack of control, and the drone drops to Atti mode.
Regards,
Menon from Singapore.
I have checked with the Civil Aviation (CAAS) department. They are working on it to see if the RID module can be removed from drones transmitting RID. As of now we have to use it till CAAS changes the regulations.
