Police don't take lost/found property reports anymore. They've got far too much to do sorting out Facebook slagging matches and drunken idiots. There's a website www.reportmyloss.com that has a database of lost property. It doesn't seem very clear how you report items you've found, though...

It depends on the sequence of beeps. Can you elaborate on how many beeps in each sequence? Also, there may be some flashing of the rear LEDs which will help you to diagnose the issue.

That was my first thought, but re-reading the OP it seems like he lost signal BEFORE the Phantom landed, so in theory it should have RTH at that point to the original recored home point. I guess that to record a new home point, it would have had to have landed, and the motors stopped at the...
