    State park rules

Which is great if there isn't a big fine involved.

    State park rules

The best thing to do is to contact the parks department directly and ask them. I did that where I live. It took a few days to get a response (and we're heading into a weekend today), but I printed the email as proof of their policy and keep it with me if I fly in a state park. Contact New...

    Airshou

The last five versions of iOS have been released in mid-September, to coincide with new iPhone releases. My guess is that iOS 11 will follow that pattern, so around Sept. 19.

    Return To Home Questions

Odd. My Phantom 3 Standard does not do that. It stops, turns toward the home point, ascends to the RTH altitude, then starts moving.

    Flying in light rain!

A light rain started during a flight this spring and I brought the bird down right away. I spent quite a bit of time wiping the fuselage and camera down. It got soaked really quickly. Yeah, don't do it.

Local City banning hobby drones to their own backyard.

According to the story it has passed and is now a city ordinance.

Local City banning hobby drones to their own backyard.

Well, aren't airplanes supposed to stay above 500 feet? But they still have to take off and land. I suspect in this case, neither the city councilman who wrote the law nor the reporter covering the city council know what they're talking about when it comes to drones.

    Anyone know the weight?

The prices and so forth are going to vary depending on whether you're using the U.S. Postal Service, UPS or FedEx, and which level of service you're using --- two-day, overnight, etc.

    Smart RTH?

Yep, it's there for me, too.

Is it ok to calibrate when ac is warming up

Ah, good old PhantomPilots.com. Eight replies full of lectures, none of them actually answering the OP's question. If you have determined you need to calibrate your compass, for whatever reason, follow the instructions at the link Meta4 provided. The short answer is, wait until the aircraft has...

    Disappointed But Not Surprised

It's weird that this wasn't discussed to death when it happened a couple of weeks ago. Oh wait, it was. The only restriction that has been added is against flights extremely close to airports, prisons, nuclear power plants and the like. And if you are allowed to fly there you can get a waiver...

    P3 filming

It does sound like the data isn't writing to the card fast enough. DJI includes decent cards with its drones, but that doesn't mean it can't be a bum card. I agree With The Birds, format and try again, and if that doesn't work, try another card. You want a card that has the fastest write speed...

Texas outlaws low drone flights over farms, other areas

Notice the reasoning is that a chemical attack might hurt cattle. But flying over Dallas or Houston --- that's no problem.

Texas outlaws low drone flights over farms, other areas

Of course this isn't about worrying about chemical attacks at all. It's about stopping animal-rights groups from getting damaging video of abuse: Texas Outlaws Low Drone Flights Over Big Farms HOUSTON (CN) – Fly a drone over a factory farm in Texas where cattle or pigs are raised in...
