The head tracking is fine, it's just using a second USB device that's the problem.

Not quite correct, you can only use the main type a USB for the head tracking and the hdmi port for video. The smal type c USB is for updates only and doesn't work with a tablet or head tracking.

Looking at the DJI website shows that the P4A comes with the remote controller with the built in screen. It's the same as the P4P+ one (GL300E) , although the standard remote is the GL300C, rather than the GL300F that comes with the P4P

Litchi Vue should do it as well. Depends on what type of goggles you want to use.

Looks like you'll need a new gimbal assembly. The online repair service is pretty good - they'll arrange collection and delivery etc. But, be warned, that looks like a $750 repair if a new gimbal is needed. DJI Repair Service Center
