I meant more, has anyone pulled the stream directly from the camera? I assume since it's transmitting over wifi it's just a webcam setup with a dedicated ip and outputting video over a specified ip.
Buy one of these (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=audio%20recorder&sprefix=audio+re%2Caps&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Aaudio%20recorder) that has an external mic input and then buy a small directional mic and mount it facing forward and slightly down.
Has anyone done any work on this? I did a few searches and found mostly stuff related to the non vision/vision+ fpv setups... I'm wanting to use the DJI Vision app, but also have a computer connected to the repeater on the controller grabbing video too.
I use a milk crate with a custom built top, zip ties one one side and latch on other. Works, cost me a grand total of $8. Could throw a pad and shoulder straps on it if I wanted and use it as a backpack, lol.
Here it is before I put the top on it http://i.imgur.com/P4JI2z5.jpg
A few of these https://www.sparkfun.com/products/8958 rigged to an atmini that then hooked into the Phantom's CAN bus could do it fairly easily and super cheap. We're talking non mas produced at under $100 which is a paltry some for something like this, you could easily mass produce them for...
Has anyone attempted any work on this? With the Phantom's Home mode you could easily set the home point over the object you wanted to scan and use the parts out of a laser level to project a beam for the camera to pickup for scanning. A few slow rotations of the phantom around the object could...
When I get my Vision+ in next week I'm thinking I might buy a small weight set and see how weight reduces battery life -- has anyone mapped the curve yet? Like how many mhA per gram whilst hovering in no wind?
Re: DJI DropSafe parachute system
Over engineering much? Why bother with compressed gas and valves at all when a parachute will work just fine with less chance of mechanical failure? You've already got the draft from the unit's acceleration toward the earth to use to deploy the parachute...
I've been thinking about designing a parachute my self for the phantom, you don't really need a spring loaded device, the air flow will pull the chute if the phantom goes into freefall. The biggest issue is a triggering device. Best thing I can come up with atm is build a little container on top...
Alright, sweet! Was really hoping I could pick up the P2V+ instead of having to the extra $$$ for a go pro and all the other jaz to make a P2 do the same thing.
I have a buddy that owns a Phantom 2 and runs a 5.8ghz FPV on it. Are we going to be able to fly around at the same time if I pick up a Phantom 2 Vision+? I'm scared my video is going to stomp on his control and his video is going to stomp on my control...
