There is a very old pilots saying that if you crash to destroy the radio, because you know it won't work when you really need it - so at least you'll know why, and to burn the log books!

Maybe the bigger question is, how are you paying attention to your drone if your talking on your phone?

I was looking at an airport no fly zone map and I was thinking that a smarter, more doable solution might be a graduated height limit, like if your 4 miles from an airport you could fly to like 100-150 feet? I'm a private pilot and if I'm flying that low that far from the airport I've got...

How would it even work if your iOS device is set to use your phantom as the wifi connection, how are you going to be able to send the content?

Interesting question, is the beacon at the airport still lit? And do you know if it is open where pilots can use the radio to turn on the landing lights Quite a few small airports do that

I'm still trying to figure out why they chose 5 miles, if we can't/don't fly over 500 feet, that alone will really minimize any drone problems as long as you are maybe 1 mile away from the airport I'm a private pilot and your never down near 500 feet (at least in the states) unless your flying...
