    Ribbon cable sources

Has anyone found any unconventional sources for ribbon cables? Specifically, I'm looking for an alternative 5-conductor compass ribbon cable and an 8 conductor Zenmuse ribbon cable. It seems a waste to have to pay big bucks for cables that probably aren't worth more than a couple of bucks. Thanks

Defect delivered motor or defect ESC?

If you crashed, you may have broken your ESC. To find out for certain, swap motors. You'll need a soldering iron to do it. If you're serious about flying Phantoms, you'd better plan on learning to solder, if you aren't already proficient.

Phantom over water (loss control) just hovered then splash

Re: Phantom over water (loss control) just hovered then spla There are some really good posts on here regarding loss of control. In some cases, switching from GPS mode to ATTI mode works. As a last resort, turning off the controller is the right call. However, making sure your compass is...

9" Carbon Fiber Propeller - Possible warning

I think that ElGuano is right. It's the shape of the props. I was descending straight down when the crash occurred. I was also in GPS mode. Some have noticed that I almost pulled it out of the crash. I switched from GPS to ATTI mode and the Phantom began to respond. I then switched it back...

9" Carbon Fiber Propeller - Possible warning

I did descend straight down in both cases. Here's a link to YouTube where you can see the second crash. http://youtu.be/7m0rB54ct-w

9" Carbon Fiber Propeller - Possible warning

I wanted to share my recent experience using 9" Carbon Fiber, Phantom 2-style propellers on my Phantom 1.1.1. I've been flying my Phantom using regular 8" carbon fiber propellers and decided to try something different, so I bought the propellers pictured below. When taking a test flight the...

    Zenmuse H3-2D Pitch Control

Is there a setting that allows you to control the speed in which the pitch control operates? When I move the pitch control lever on my transmitter, the camera changes positions very quickly, which doesn't look good on the video. I'd like to slow it down. Thanks

Hey Guys - is this a good brushless gimbal?

I bought a gimbal from helipal.com and paid $195. It died in a crash and I bought a new gimbal from goodluckbuy.com for about $90.00. It turned out to be exactly the same gimbal. Both worked fine.

    Zenmuse H3-2D Installation with PMU

I never thought about using the aux wires. Sounds like that may be a better alternative. Thanks again.

    Zenmuse H3-2D Installation with PMU

Thanks for your note. However, I just found another warning in NAZA Assistant saying "Never connect F1/F2 ports to ESCs wired to motors with propellers when configuring." Evidently, they never saw DJI's video. I don't mean to question your advice, but are you certain this is okay? Is this...

UPDATE*Lost transmitter connection after P2V firmware update

Re: Lost transmitter connection after P2V software update I'm pretty sure I know what the problem is. When you upgrade, sometimes the type of transmitter gets screwed up in the configuration. Go to NAZA Assistant software, turn on your transmitter and hook-up your Phantom. Then check under...

    Zenmuse H3-2D Installation with PMU

I am trying to install my Zenmuse H3-2D on my Phantom 1.1.1 using a PMU instead of the upgrade board and I'm encountering a problem. DJI has a video on its website of how to install this and I followed it exactly. The video shows how and where you solder the PMU power cables. Then it shows...
