I just traded in my Mini 1 wifi on Amazon for 94 and picked up a Mini 2 LTE for 156 on eBay. It's just as fast as the 3 and I'm not willing to pay for the 4 as all I do is web surf, read books on it and now, use the DJI Go app.
I've seen those shields that you place behind your antennas, lined with metallic tape. You can pick them up for less than $10, does anyone have experience with them?
I think you're missing the idea. The sum of the parts is worth much more than the cost of the complete unit. By parting it out people get discounted parts and he gets money in his pocket for his time and labor disassembling and shipping out.
It will be refreshing when sellers on eBay start buying new P4s and parting them out, similar to what I see being done for Traxxas RC models. Prices are usually quite a bit cheaper than MSRP and there's still a large profit margin.
I used this method way back when I was a kid dying nitro rc nylon wheels. It looks cool and doubt it affects the reliability but the only concern I have is when you require warranty work involving a prop failure. Might not be a good idea in that scenario. If your warranty is up why not though.
