Hi,
I was wondering if I was to fly my P3A to a long distance where there wasn't enough battery to return, would I be able to land it at that point and have someone swap in a new battery for the return home? I'm not sure if the remote would reconnect at that distance. Just curious.

Since the FAA considers a 'Drone' as Aircraft he (theoretically) could be in a lot of trouble, on a Federal level, for intentionally interfering with the operation of an Aircraft. Make sure he is aware of that.

I took mine on the plane from NY to Florida in November. Carried on in a hard shell backpack with 4 batteries and spare props. No issues. It fit in the overhead compartment with no problem. They did 'swab' it when I left NY.

Stick up for these people? These are the people that are going to get our hobby banned. Why would I stick up for them? This was just some guy enjoying flying his drone and trying to get great video at the risk of peoples safety. We have the Privilege of flying in this FREE country but not at the...
40th floor? Approximately 15 feet per floor. 40 x 15 = 600. He has violated the FAA 400' rule. He should be charged accordingly. And throw in some reckless endangerment too. MAYBE if they start enforcing some of these laws people will think twice about doing stupid things like this. Until there...
At this point it doesn't matter if you support the new LAW or not. Is it really worth the (unlikely) possibility of getting caught and paying a $250,000 fine and maybe several years in jail? Federal jail. Not registering also just adds another black mark against the hobby.

I'm more concerned with someone using my number on their Drone and doing something unlawful like crashing on the Whitehouse lawn and the authorities trace the Drone to me.

I was wondering if someone could just copy your registration number, put it on their Drone and have you accountable for their actions? People come up to me all the time when I fly and ask questions. Perfect opportunity for someone to get my registration number. Maybe I'm paranoid but you never...
Please don't. As cool and harmless as it may seem, things happen. Even hearing about attaching a laser to a drone will bring up bad connotations in the minds of most people. This hobby suffers from enough bad publicity and everyday faces new legislation that may one day lead to its banishment...
Sorry to hear about your crash. I wondered about flying to the first waypoint and at what height it would fly. As a precaution I always set my first waypoint above my homepoint and at the height of my intended first waypoint. Seems I did the right thing.
