it's great at shooting video, most people still don't use 4k so yes I think it's totally acceptable for youtube. I have been shooting video without any modifications to settings (right out of the box) and the video is awesome. Everyone I show my videos to comments on how great the quality is.

It can go basically as high as you want it to but anything over 400 feet is considered too high as far as I know

I thought the magic mod was only for drones outside of the US, is that not true?

you can probably do it either way, I fly about twice a week and usually charge it the night before I plan on using it but I don't think it really matters
