I noticed several options for sale - two piece, one piece, full length. Most are 3D printed but Taco RC has a one piece made of aluminum. How does the reflective tape hold up? Would it be worth getting the aluminum one for durability?
No doubt Apple marketing is confusing if not misleading. But I wouldn't go so far to say the Air 2 should be the first choice in all cases. If for no other reason, there will be those who prefer the smaller form factor in which case the mini fits the bill assuming DJI and/or Apple fix the issues.
I've been flying with an iPhone 6 on iOS 8.4 and never once had any issues or overheating. It is entirely reasonable to assume that the iPad mini 4 on iOS 9.x should be expected to run just as reliably. The A8 vs A8x perf comparisons are accurate but should not be construed to suggest that the...
I've had troubles connecting to the forum via my Mac. Came at the same time as the latest firmware upgrade so I thought it was just userload related but it seems like I can connect to the mobile version. Anyone else experiencing this? No changes on my end.
If that doesn't make you appreciate the tech in a P3, I don't know what will. It's a camera platform as much as an aircraft if not more. When I take mine out I'm always thinking about how I capture the shot and other film/photo techniques. Viewed through that context, it seems like I have a...
Hunch (PhantomPilots handle) is Hani Lanzi from UAVrepairshop.com. I believe he is independent from DJI and probably doesn't do DJI warranty work. I would ask him to be certain. But he does repair a lot of these drones and has many years of experience. If I were to crash a drone due to some...
My very first post crash flight was in 15mph wind (I couldn't wait any longer) in a football field. Got a compass error and brought her down to recalibrate. The initial calibration had felt a bit awkward and was not level but no issues since. You can bet I keep a close eye on the app for any...
Spent the weekend getting reacquainted with my P3P after a crash. Thanks to Hunch for the repair and fast turn around! Those first few flights are kind of like reconciling a relationship that went through a rough patch. I need to rebuild my trust in the bird and learn how to dance again. :-)
Considering the consistently obscene delays in getting warranty service, it seems like an option to consider would be to just send it to one of the places that will fix your unit for a fee. It defeats the point of a warranty but it's that or live without or buy an entire duplicate unit (with...
As compared to variable pitch helicopters, the difference with carbon fiber props on the P3 must be very subtle if any at all. The diameter on those single rotor birds get to 5+ feet in with a constant chord and variable forces where the rigidity is not just better but required. Plastic props...
