I ve just done the same, 5k out over water whereas I was getting 4K previous to the upgrade. I still had max bars on signal strength when I RTH'd it on 58% battery life, landed with 18% left so I must have been flying into a headwind on the way out. Great value upgrade imo.

There is a fix that was posted a week or so ago.
