it is called diversity, the p3 remote will choose the best and change automatically from time to time, they are not redundant but you can do with removing 1 antenna as the rc will only use the other, not so for the ones on the airframe, as they both transmit together

yes, i am running bo and can fly very far even with crazy wifi all around me(image taken from kuta beach, bali, flew in front of hard rock cafe), 1km plus and signal still holding strong, decided to come home because of the battery

flying the phantom close is boring, flying it far is exciting and raises your curiosity of what is 1km+ away

try the magic power mod, like epicdoom said. and i have just done it a few weeks ago with a cheap laptop instead of my better laptop just to show that it can be done fast and clean with no need of programming knowledge

they are on the sides of the battery compartment, they are panel antennas so you wont expect that they are antennas, they look like 2 standard sd cards stacked against each other with a small white cable siliconed into the back
