It seems there are two Nexus 7 models. The original and the newer 2013 model. Do the original, older Nexus 7s work OK? They are still available and are cheaper and I will only use it with my Phantom Vision. I already wasted $180.00 on a Samsung tablet that I will donate to the Salvation Army...

I have the same problem with my Galaxy3. Because of the weather it's been a while since my last flight, but if I recall correctly, if I let the Phantom hover and play back a video that I have just recorded, the Galaxy3 displays it with no problems. This makes the problem even more confusing...
