Well I'm having no luck with my phantom 2 vision + v3.0. Long story short random death roll. Haven't even had time to take it apart, but not a happy camper. Here is the screen record off my phone, think I'm just going to give up on this phantom and build a racing quad.
First off, I really, really hope your an amateur radio operator, second if you were you'd know that you could use any single band 440 ht and program the ccst tone needed to activate. If your not at least technician licenced through the fcc then just buy a crappy 10buck frs radio at Wal-Mart...
Update,
Fixed quad presumably, will fly tomorrow. One thing I noticed was that new 2312 motors were slightly bigger than the 2312's that came with quad which I thought was weird. Still have to fix gimbal, that should be fun.
Thanks for the info Jeremy, I'll use the same technique. Am going to start replacing parts today when I get off work. If you have any other suggestions feel free to bring them up, don't want to have to tear into this thing after the fact. Thanks!
That's what I was thinking too, is it that imperative to keep heat off the main board or esc while soldering? I ask because I was debating on using a fine silver solder that requires a little bit more heat to melt, but is better at handeling current. I have a adjustable iron with a very very...
All the wires were pinched against the esc when the arm bent. All the damage to wires were caused by crash. There's no visible sign of arching on wires or esc.
Re: If you just purchased a brand new Phantom 2 Vision+ V3 R
Unfortunately I would have to say yes, but my opinion is bias as my v3.0 fell out of the sky. As for the controller, compass, gps, and wifi module those are all things that can be upgraded if you feel the need to improve v2.0...
Wow lots of good info being exchanged, I would post up some pictures of esc, motors, wires, but site keeps giving me issue as far as posting pictures is concerned.
Ah, there we go. Well all the connections look solid except this one on the main board to the esc. The wires were pinched upon...
Sounds pretty similar as to what just happened to me a few days ago. Bird just died midfligh after 3 min.
I didn't think of checking motor leads, phantom is tore apart anyway I'll look at my leads on the motors.
I'm thinking of doing a load test on the battery, does anyone know what the maximum current draw of the phantom 2 vision + is, more specifically a v3.0? I want to measure voltage drop and see if I can trigger a safety shutoff.
Wow sounds too familiar to be a coincidence. Now I'm starting to think that it doesn't matter how much money I throw at this thing in parts if I'm doomed to repeat. Being worried while flying takes the fun right out of it.
Let's see, the batteries were stored in the house and fully charged the night before flight. I had the heat on with everything riding in the back seat. Batteries couldn't be too cold maybe 60 - 70 degrees. I didn't have any heater vents blowing directly on bird or batteries. Before flight I...
