First sentence not exactly true I think. Second sentence I agree with.
You should probably calibrate after changing hardware on the rig or its software. I haven't been able to calibrate successfully after 3.14 anywhere or anytime without powering down the gimbal.
I'm with you on that one. Not ideal by any means but it beats being grounded. I hope.
I emailed Keri also but he has ignored so many of my past emails I am not hopeful.
Yes, continuous red lights flashing after vertical rotation during compass calibration. Same as BmanCan I guess. http://www.phantompilots.com/posts/333501/
Yes, my Phantom seems to work fine (doesn't fly away at least) and can maintain laser straight flight paths like never before after I...
The RPG was, and is, working fine. I was on 3.08 now on 3.14. That's when the problem started.
Good news for me at least is it doesn't seem to matter that I calibrate with the RPG powered down then power the P2V and RPG up and fly. Just did my first ground station test run and all went well...
Update:
I took it for a spin this morning.
- Calibrated with the RPG powered down.
- Power down the P2V.
- Plug in the RPG.
- Power up the P2V.
Did 15 mins of test in GPS mode. All good. Will try the other mode tomorrow.
Thanks BMan. Don't know how I missed your previous post. Yes to the large motors.
Have you been flying ok after calibrating with the RP powered down and then powering it up? Did Keri ever reply?
Hi all.
Early adopter of the Rotorpixel gimbal here. Been happily and successfully using the 1st version for a year or so now. All was good until a day or two ago.
I was holding off upgrading firmware but needed to try the ground station feature so I pulled the trigger and updated to 3.14...
I'm sure Keri is a great guy with the best of intentions but does anybody else think it sucks that the Rotorpixel website has for what, a year now, said this:
and still says this.
