I have found that some USB cables do not work connecting to the phamtom transmitter, while they seem to work on other products. Try a different USB connector. YOu need to power up the transmitter first, followed by the drone. Take off the props to see if you can get the power to the motors. The...
Suggest you try another SD card- I had problems with recording and found when the SD card was getting fuller, it seemed to be unable to cope with allocating data to memory. Worth a try to change it.
Batteries slowly discharge, their chemical composition means that once their voltage drops below about 3v per cell, they cannot be recharged. So keep them charged as other members suggest. Remember that over time their chemical composition also degenerates so they will not last forever...
Un-attended batteries can catch fire - for interest see the attached report of a full size plane being brought down in Dubai due to Lipo batteries. The quality does vary, so hopefully the DJI one are stable!

If you are part of the BMFA ( British Model Flying Association) you can take the test with them. If you are a member you will...
Possibly its the access time onto the chip, as it searches for a location to put the data.
If the card is empty, you may find it works ok.
Were you adding files to the same card ? and thus giving greater density, which the chip has to try to find a location, and gives up!.
