Arches is a great place to fly. Not sure if it's legal, but one of the park rangers watched the fpv with me and said it was cool.

Just my opinion, but If you ask permission you probably will never get it. Even if it's legal to fly, people don't want to be the one who gets blamed for approving the flight if you crash and hurt someone or something.
Just be low key and use common sense. I flew over the grand canyon...
Good tips.
I have the original Phantom and I consider my GoPro settings as well. What look do I want to ultimately achieve - will something look cooler in slo motion, etc...
I prefer a 24 fps look over 30, and I also like having the freedom to adjust the image in post.
With that in mind, I...
I went with this over the fatshark goggles because I had a battery powered monitor already - the one I have is made by Small HD - It's a pro level monitor, but there's cheaper solutions than that. You could probably pick up an old 9" battery powered lcd tv with a video input on Ebay. Since...
I appreciate people's opinions, a couple years ago I produced and directed a feature film, Assisted Fishing.
When you do something like that, you want it to appeal to as many people as possible - you have a financial stake, so you listen and evaluate people's criticism. What I learned though is...
Well, if you look at it like this - film-makers have been using depth of field for ages to have a subject in focus and background out of focus. It's a technique used to draw the eye to what the director wants you to see. They could shoot it differently to make the whole image sharp, but that's...

I upgraded the FPV antennas to these:

I use this cable to go from the GoPro Hero 3 to the FPV...
I use final cut pro for editing, and like I said, I used an after effects plug-in for the tilt shift - but it could probably be recreated in Vegas.
Basically you need to stack two versions of your video - the bottom layer would get a blur effect.
The top layer would be cropped top and bottom...
Here's how I look at it... Creating a video piece is a type of art. From the actual flying to framing the appropriate shots, the music, the editing, and any visual effects.
Everybody has an opinion about art and they are entitled to their opinion. In the end, some will like it and others...
I wouldn't know what to search for. I have over 200+ flights with mine, and its never fallen from the sky. The only time its crashed was my fault when I hit something with it.
Is there seriously an issue of "falling from the sky" that people have been having?
