Yesterday, I did something stupid. After flying my Phantom nicely over manicured lawns at a beach / garden park, I attempted to take off from a piece of wood on a small beach. I had used the Phantom on a lake beach earlier in the summer and was cautious about sand, so I wasn't very concerned...

I took a bit of a risk and flew my Phantom over the river in the next town over during 4th of July fireworks. I edited together some of the shaky footage for the DroneFly gimbal contest: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARIoy2Rhz18 I clearly need the gimbal! I pre-ordered one, still no sign of it.

I preordered through DroneFly and paid the full amount last week. Still haven't heard back, but I have high hopes that it'll be soon.
