Fly away crash - need advice on repairability

Hi folks, Unfortunately I've had my first flyaway incident, and it culminated in a crash into trees at somewhere around 35-40 MPH according to the telemetry. I found the machine (DJI P2V+) - its battery was dislodged, and there is some damage to the landing gear hoops, camera, and props. I've...

The new no fly zones keep growing

I did that as well and got absolutely no data in Canada. Were you searching in Canada or Texas?

The new no fly zones keep growing

That link shows less than two dozen NFZs in Canada, and only one or two of them are Class B. Also it shows no NFZ near the area where tomic is indicating his craft won't launch.

The new no fly zones keep growing

Is there a place where these "new" NFZs are available for others to view, or is it just showing up on the app when you try to launch? I'm interested in seeing if there's any expanded ones in my area.

The new no fly zones keep growing

Interesting point. My fire station is just a mile or two outside the 5 NM radius of a general aviation airport (interestingly enough, not shown at all on the no-fly zones list from DJI, even though it's the tenth-busiest airport in the country). We're actually in the first response plan for...

The new no fly zones keep growing

I have to plead ignorance of how the NFZs are established or how the app/aircraft/etc receives them. I'm new to drone flying but mildly familiar with flight restrictions as I work in the fire service with some involvement in local airports and with a number of helicopter services. Hope you can...

What Canadian city are you in? Is it possible there's a TFR/NOTAM for the federal leaders coming thru for the federal election campaign?

    APRS (ham radio tracker) suitability?

Thanks, that's a neat read! robsquad - APRS is typically, for me, just a neat 'vehicle location' system. (The creator of APRS is a little uptight that people use it solely for that, but to each their own.) The fun part is that other people than just me can see where the device is. If you look...

    APRS (ham radio tracker) suitability?

Hi folks, Relatively new P2V+ operator here - my fire department owns the machine and I use it to shoot our training and some of our incidents (including one time doing some aerial photography on behalf of the police, for a crash investigation). I'm also an amateur radio operator and a regular...
