Anyone fly FPV in manual mode with gimbal?

I would venture to say no. It would be suicide, seeing as you use your camera angles in normal FPV flight to determine and adjust your attitude. It may be possible if you put some kind of visible arc around the front of the camera gimble and adjust it to be level with the horizon, that way when...

    GoPro Video Settings

This question has been posted many times. Use the search function before posting to avoid reposts. Short answer is it depends on what you're filming, what you want to do with the footage, and lighting condition. Personally, I mostly use 1080p Wide 60 during the day and 30 in low light conditions.

    Carrying Case?

Pelican case here. The 1560 model fits the P2 perfectly, with props attached. Enough room for tx with monitor attached, hood, and batts for the monitor and P2. Got the model with the pluck and pull foam. It's on sale on amazon now and ships for free if you're a prime member.

    Phantoms and Bee's

My last two flights at separate parks have attracted about 4-6 bees flying around it when hovering.

Should I start an aerial photography company with a P2Z?

Here in the US, it's temporarily legal (at least on a federal level). At least until the outcome of the FAA appeal. In certain states, or municipalities, it may be regulated or banned outright. In Honolulu, flying a model aircraft anywhere other than one of nine crappy parks in the middle of...

    Notice to US FPVers

Unless your video tx is within the 5.745-5.825 center frequencies AND has a FCC Part 15 compliance label (i've never seen one on any of the tx units commonly used by FPVers), then you do need your amateur license.

    Notice to US FPVers

I've mentioned this before on this forum, but serisously, get your HAM license. FCC may start cracking down on enforcement.A push by the ARRL is asking for the FCC to step it up this year. It's not hard to get and it's a great skill to have under your belt. Get started at...

Stock TX range: FCC potentiometer values

The pot doesn't have any effect on the non vision models. On a vision controller, the firmware reads the value of the pot and sets the output power of TX to one of two modes. On the 2.4GHz models, the pot is still on the board, but is not mapped to anything in the TX firmware. If anyone here is...

P2, iOSD, IRC 600mW, Black Pearl - First Flight Success!

Yes. You should seriously consider getting it regardless. It's a great hobby and useful skillset. Plus, then you can also use the lower ham bands for longer distance tx on aircraft control.

    Fixing DJI's Compass Problem

I know it wasn't the wind for me, because the hook was into the wind. If the breeze was causing a drift in my situation, the hook would have been to the opposite direction, with the wind. Also with full GPS lock and low wind, the Naza software should compensate for wind drift.

    Fixing DJI's Compass Problem

Hawaii here. Just got my P2 yesterday, put the new 2.0 firmware on it and upgraded everything. Did the compass dance and first flight this morning and I also got the hook to the left. It wasn't as pronounced as in the video though. It did also boomerang when coming back and did get better at...
