I never really got it to work perfectly. There is always more shakiness and jello-effect with the GoPro than with the Vision+ camera.
I have moved on to the DJI Inspire 1.
The Phantom 2 Vision+ does not support any camera besides the Phantom 2 Vision+ camera.
However, you can buy a quick-release kit from dronexpert.nl that allows you to mount a GoPro and corresponding gimbal. It will transmit the GoPro video to the Vision+ app. I bought this, and it works...
Perhaps your wobble is increasing as the temperature decreases? Perhaps because the dampeners are too stiff in the cold weather?
I think that is happening to my Hero4/H3-3D combo. If the rain ever stops, I will try switching the dampeners to the softest ones I have.
Re: quickrelease from dronexpert and new 5,8GHz rc transmit
I got the updated firmware from Dronexpert.nl:

I installed it (pay close attention to the instructions), recalibrated the wheel and the gimbal, and it seems to work fine. I'm going to try to fly it this afternoon.

Re: quickrelease from dronexpert and new 5,8GHz rc transmit
I asked for an update on the new RC tilt wheel and the GoPro, and yesterday they said:
I have the new RC, and the tilt wheel works great with the VIsion+ camera. I am just waiting for them to release firmware that supports tilting...
Basic rule of problem solving: change one variable, then test.
So what I did was:
1) Change the dampeners on the GoPro HD-3D gimbal to the black "50 degrees" ones that came with the gimbal.
2) Change the gains by clicking the 'defaults' button in the Assistant app
3) Change the RC because my...
Dronexpert.nl sent me a firmware upgrade for the quick-release. I upgraded it, and the tilt problem is solved.
They even added a nice new feature for the GoPro: the image-quality setting controls the speed of the tilt, for both the Vision+ app and the 7th-channel lever. It doesn't work for...
The wobble went away almost completely when I switched dampeners. I still have a slight jello problem.
But I don't see how any of this could be related to gain settings, since this happens when I have no sticks engaged. Am I missing something?
Thanks.
Have you tried the GoPro? What vibration are you seeing? The new dampeners helped a lot, but I'm still seeing a lot of jello, which I never see with my Vision+ camera.
This was the problem.
I initially installed a set of black dampeners that came with the HD-3D gimbal. They were too soft and too bouncy.
I replaced them with a set of white dampeners that also came with the HD-3D gimbal. I should have chosen them first, as they were the dampeners inserted...
I heard from Dronexpert.nl this morning. They have reproduced the tilt problem, and believe it is related to the latest version of the Vision+ app (1.0.54) running on Android. They are investigating it.
