Flying Drone in and around Atlanta

Every time I’ve flown down there, it was right at sunrise to avoid people as well. Seems to be the best way to avoid any conflicts.

Flying Drone in and around Atlanta

I always check for any restrictions before I fly. I couldn't find anything on City of Atlanta's site about it. Sec 110-72 sounds like it applies to model aircraft the use engines, not electric motors. Either way, I haven't had issues with it, but that could have been luck. The GBA's resolution...

    Atlanta at Sunrise

Yep. s long as you don't fly over people, you should be good to go.

I guess they like you guys better than me, LOL. They never emailed or called me for clarification on anything.

    Auxiliary Lighting

I use one for Firehousetechnology.com. Work great. I only have 1, red, mounted at the back, but I may get another for the front. I can even see it during the day. Granted, I don't fly long distance but I like it.

    Spark vs Breeze

I have a Phantom 3 Pro. I want something portable that I can easily carry on my motorcycle. The Mavic seems to be the best choice, I just have to save up the money.

    Night waiver denied!

So I checked a few of the approved waivers, and they say similar things that I put in my request. Have a trained visual observer, recon the area in daylight if possible, understand the factors that affect flying at night. I addressed all those things in my submission. I can't see what those...

    Night waiver denied!

I haven't. I'll check them as well. Thanks.

    Night waiver denied!

So I really don't understand the FAA. I applied for a waiver to fly at night under my Part 107. I read their "performance standards" and addressed each point in my request. I included my use of a visual observer and my addition of anti-collision lights. I also included my prior experience...

    Spark vs Breeze

Thanks. That's what I was wondering, and what would make the price difference worth it. The camera would be the priority for me. I'm waiting for someone to do an actual comparison in YouTube.

    Spark vs Breeze

Yep. If you want to remote it's more money. If you want a 2nd battery as well, you're looking at $200 more, $700 total. That puts it almost twice the price of the Breeze. These selfie drones aren't made for distance flying. If that's the goal, the Mavic is much better suited. I guess there's...
