Sounds like the RC is not sending signal to the drone or the drone isn't picking up RC signal. Have you tried relinking the RC to the drone?

Im sure Data is required to load the 'Map view' within the dji go app. so although the rc should report the drone's gps location. you will not see it on a map without the tablet being able to load the map through data though a 3g/4g data connection. The tablet will probly not be able to connect...

depending on the return fee its got to be well worth having it back and putting it on ebay, most people would pay good money for a broken one rather than paying the premium of a shiny new one. i know i did :)
