Emptypockets is concerned with the electrical contact between the battery and the drone "connector" rather than the mechanical connection that holds the battery in place in the drone. Looking at the charging plug, the main thing that makes it feel tight or loose is the plastic housing...

Why-ever bother?.......................you're just complicating things unnecessarily!!. The standard charger that comes free, charges the batteries up very quickly with no problems. If it was no good and damaged the batteries, Dji wouldn't be sending it out and there would be many warranty...

Can't see why you'd need one to be honest. It's so easy to just reach up and grab the drone when it's hovering just above head height........ I do it all the time now, even when there's a nice flat surface to land on.

I'm surprised you don't just get yourself a Phantom 4 and save yourself all this hassle!! I'd guess you like the challenge of modifying the P3.

I considered it really quick............ couple of hours roughly though haven't measured it really accurately. Certainly, very quick comparing it to my cordless drills, hedgecutters, tablet etc. I find that with a spare battery you can get 45 minutes use after which I'm ready to head for home...

The moral here must be to just change one thing only, at a time to see the effect................ also make a note what you've done!

Don't know if these are the ones you saw but you can buy rubber blanking grommets or plugs............ all sizes but black which might not be your preferred colour. Do a search on Ebay.. they come in all sizes.

For anyone interested in accuracy of barometers ... you may be surprised to know that a Precision Aneroid Barometer can in fact detect change from moving to / from a desk to the floor. Not wishing to doubt you here......i'm sure you're more of an expert than me. Googled these barometers...

Interesting thread some months ago on here....... P3S landing question ............................ possibly backing up my theory above? Certainly, the height indicator on my drone is not accurate to within a few centimetres that would be needed for a "barometric landing" where it slows some...

It seems incredible that the drone can detect a change in barometric pressure during a descent as little as a couple of feet.......I expect you're correct though. I originally guessed that as it got within a few feet of the ground, there would be a sudden increase in pressure due to the force...

Just realised what I was doing wrong.................. have to tap the phantom 4 icon and then the other Phantom models appear on a menu... can then click the standard with no problems. I'll get to grips with this new technology eventually lol!!

Many thanks...... that's why things weren't working! Still have to go in through the Inspire icon though for some strange reason...... the Phantom icon isn't dark and tapping it won't go into the app.

Mine did go a bit "laggy" a week ago and I deleted the cache (or whatever..... not very technical on these things!) ........... it was something like 80mb....... and it seemed to sort the problem out.

Sorry to continue this one...... i have trouble understanding the caching maps too! As above, I can get it all to work using the Inspire Raw..................many thanks. When I scroll around the map area to put the maps on the app, I'm on Google maps........................ why then does it...
